Webinar looks at donor
engagement during crises
Candid will host a webinar titled “Cultivating
Donors in a Time of Crisis” on June 11 at 2 p.m. ET.
According to organizers, the COVID-19 crisis and
associated economic fallout has already had a tremen-
dous impact on the nonprot sector, and promises
more to come. But nonprots can’t let the fear and
uncertainty of the moment stop them from pursuing
their missions. This webinar—to be led by Jessica
James, founder of Jessica James Consulting LLC—
will give attendees the tools to create opportunities
for donors that will allow them to remain connected
to their mission and inspired to give. Attendees will
also learn strategies for maintaining and growing their
prospect pipeline.
Upon completion of this training session, partic-
ipants should be able to:
craft on-brand messages for individuals, corpo-
rations or broader audiences that speak to the pain
of the moment and the necessity of giving to your
organization;
continue developing a pipeline of prospects
despite the economic climate; and
conceptualize innovative ideas for both socially
distanced volunteer opportunities and fundraisers.
Fees for this event are $25.

Charityhowto.com webinar
explores grants research
The nonprot resources website Charityhowto.
com will host a webinar titled “Finding a Needle in
a Haystack: How to Successfully Research Grants”
on June 18 and June 24 at 3:00 p.m. ET.
According to organizers, researching potential
grant funders is a critical step in the grant-develop-
ment process, and having a solid understanding of
a potential grant funder’s funding history, current
priorities, and application and funding process are
critical to winning a grant.
However, grant funder research involves much
more than contact information and deadlines. It
includes understanding funding trends, priority
interests, types of support provided and geographic
focus, among other things. This webinar will help
attendees identify strong funding matches, create a
plan for the year ahead and ultimately set them up
for grant funding success.
Led by grant writing expert Diane H. Leonard, this
webinar will discuss how to best use the most common
paid databases utilized by U.S.-based nonprots for
foundation research and integrate that research with
free research tools in order to draft an initial grant
strategy. Participants will learn how to use proven
tools and strategies to successfully compile the var-
ious information and documents collected during
the research process in order to create a prioritized
proactive grant-seeking strategy.
Fees for this event are $87.

Candid webinar offers corporate
giving intro
Candid will host a webinar titled “Introduction to
Corporate Giving” on June 24 at 2:00 p.m. ET.
According to organizers, corporate grantmakers
differ from traditional foundations in many ways.

support, it’s crucial to understand these differences
before approaching companies for support. This we-

Candid’s network engagement managers for the West
and Midwest regions, will provide a basic overview of:
• the different types of corporate giving,
• what motivates corporations to give and
• how to nd potential corporate partners.
Upon completion of this webinar, attendees should
be able to:
dene different types of corporate philanthropy
and their motivations and
learn how to nd information about different
types of corporate philanthropy.
This webinar is free to the public.
