§ 4.11 • VACATION AND ABANDONMENT

• C.R.S. § 43-2-301

Vacation of designated public streets in cities and counties is governed by C.R.S. §§ 43-2-301 to 43-2-304. Vacation is accomplished by the adoption of an ordinance in cities and towns and by adoption of a resolution in counties. A platted street or deeded roadway may not be vacated if the vacation would deprive an adjoining parcel of access to the public street system. Upon vacation, title to the area of the street or roadway passes in equal proportion to the adjacent property owners.
