§ 3.5 • COLORADO UNIFORM ARBITRATION ACT (CUAA)

The Colorado Uniform Arbitration Act, C.R.S. §§ 13-22-201, et seq. (2004), applies to Colorado arbitration agreements entered into after July 14, 1975, and prior to August 4, 2004, except those agreements preempted in part by federal law, and except arbitration agreements for which the parties have agreed to be governed by the CRUAA or the FAA.²⁸ Thus, today, the CUAA has very little application. However, because many of its provisions are similar to the CRUAA, case law under the CUAA is often helpful.
