21-7 Exclusive Jurisdiction in Federal Court

Texas state courts lack jurisdiction over cases for which Congress has granted exclusive jurisdiction to the federal courts. For example, federal courts have exclusive jurisdiction over admiralty54 and bankruptcy cases55 as well as suits against foreign diplomats,56 suits for the recovery of a fine, penalty, or forfeiture under an Act of Congress,57 non-maritime seizure cases,58 and direct actions against insurers of diplomats and their families.59
