§21.4 COMPARISON WITH FEDERAL RULE

CR 21 is substantively identical to FED. R. CIV P. 21, which was first adopted in 1937. FED. R. CIV P. 21 was amended in 2007 as part of the general restyling of the federal civil rules. The amendments were intended to be stylistic only. Because the two rules are virtually identical, Washington courts applying CR 21 consider federal cases applying FED. R. CIV P. 21 to be persuasive. Carle v. Earth Stove, Inc., 35 Wn.App. 904, 907, 670P.2d1086 (1983).
