§20.3HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT
CR 20 took effect on July 1, 1967, superseding Rule of Pleading Practice and Procedure (RPPP) 2, which was enacted in 1927, and its 1942 successor, the more liberal RPPP 20(a). For a discussion of the antecedents of CR 20, see Adams v. Allstate Insurance Co., 58 Wn.2d 659, 364 P.2d 804 (1961).
CR 20(a) superseded RCW 4.08.090 (repealed 1984). CR 20(d) superseded RCW4.28.190.CR19,20,and21, taken together, superseded RCW 4.08.130 (repealed 1984).
