§ 17.2 • CONTRACT CONTENTS (GENERALLY)

The typical construction contract is a multi-part assemblage. There is usually an agreement, some general conditions, possibly supplemental general conditions, technical specifications and drawings, shop drawings, submittals, and samples - and possibly more. That assemblage produces the typical "general" or "prime" contract.

Subcontracts are likely to include all of the above, plus additional provisions along with limitations applicable to the scope of the subcontract work covered. Rather than repeating all of the terms of general conditions, subcontract forms typically incorporate the terms of the applicable general conditions by reference.
