§ 15.2 • ELEMENTS

To establish an action for conversion, a plaintiff must show that:

1) The defendant exercised dominion or control over personal property;
2) The property belonged to pthe laintiff;
3) The defendant's exercise of control was unauthorized;
4) The plaintiff demanded return of the property; and
5) The defendant refused to return it.3
