Chair’s Foreword
I am pleased to introduce the fourth edition of the Federal Administra-
tive Procedure Sourcebook. The Sourcebook is an invaluable resource for prac-
titioners, judges, and academics. It contains the most significant statutes relating
to the fundamental processes by which the agencies of government operate
on a day-to-day basis in enforcing the law, making policy, and resolving
disputes. The Sourcebook describes and analyzes these statutes and provides a
ready reference source on their operation, history, and interpretation. The
2008 revision adds two new statutesthe E-Government Act of 2002 and the
Information Quality Actand covers scores of statutory amendments, regu-
latory changes, and executive orders since the prior edition was published in
2000.
This Sourcebook is just one of many services this section offers its mem-
bers. The section brings together lawyers accomplished in administrative law
from government, private practice, and academia of all ideological stripes. I
invite you to participate in the many interesting and important activities of
the ABA Section on Administrative Law and Regulatory Practice.

Section Chair (2007-2008)
