Webinar tackles ethical
storytelling in fundraising
The nonprot resources website Charityhowto.com
will host a webinar titled Ethical Storytelling for
Fundraising Communications—How to Create Com-
pelling Content without Exploitation: A Step by Step
Guide, on Nov. 5 and Nov. 12 at 1:00 p.m. EST and
3:00 p.m. EST, respectively.
According to organizers, this hands-on training
session will teach participants how to apply the
principles of ethical storytelling to transform their
fundraising communications.
Attendees will learn to evaluate their own commu-
nications, dene ethical excellence in the storytelling
process and secure buy-in from the rest of their team
so that they can launch a new strategy with success.
By the end of this 90-minute webinar, attendees
should come away with a clear understanding of ex-
ploitation and ethics in fundraising communications,
and possess a plan of action fully customized to their
mission and tailored to the size of their organization.

Candid offers intro class
on proposal writing
Candid will host a webinar titled Introduction to
Proposal Writing on Nov. 18 at 2:00 p.m. EST.
According to organizers, the webinar is directed
towards those new to proposal writing, as well as
anyone wanting a quick refresher on the topic. The
webinar will provide attendees with an overview of
how to write a standard project proposal to a foun-
dation. Among other things, the webinar covers:
• the basic elements of a proposal,
the “do’s” and “don’ts” of writing and submit-
ting a proposal and
how to follow-up whether the answer is yes or no.
After the course, participants should understand
how to write a standard project proposal to a foun-
dation, and know how and when to follow-up with
funders after submitting a proposal.

Workshop will look at using Form
990 and Guidestar for storytelling
Candid will host a virtual workshop titled Tell
Your Story Using Form 990 and GuideStar on Nov.
17 at 1:00 p.m. EST.
In this three-hour workshop, Candid staff will
teach participants how to adjust their organization’s
public information so it tells their story in a way that
can be used as a key marketing tool. Session leaders
will review Form 990 and show how to craft a clear
message using its structure, as well as discuss other
tools grantmakers use to evaluate your organization.
Participants will also look at Guidestar’s Prole
Updater, learn how users view this prole and receive
guidance on adding information to catch the attention
of hundreds of thousands of potential donors.
