Board Development Memo
Whether you are a new or veteran board member, there’s always something more to learn about serving on a specic
board to educate yourself about the issues facing the organization. The organization would like to establish a strategy to
develop an annual board training calendar with the intent of setting aside 15 minutes at each board meeting to discuss
issues members want to learn about.
We are seeking your input. What do you want/need to know more about? What would make you a more effective board
member? Please list four topics you would like to see included on a training calendar.
Suggested topics for board education:

A list of suggested topics will be compiled and sent to board members in July with a request that each member prioritize
the topics. The board’s leadership will review this prioritized information and plan a board training calendar. ■
