Accounting for Kids[R] Day.

Accounting for Kids[R] Day is a financial literacy initiative that offers CPAs and other business professionals a chance to give back to their communities by helping students understand the fundamental concepts of financial literacy.

The concept is simple--CPAs visit classrooms of fourth-, fifth- and sixth-graders to play a stock market simulation game and talk about financial literacy with students. The morning culminates with a complimentary pizza party lunch as CPAs answer questions from students about their careers and the accounting profession.

By spending just a few hours in the classroom, CPAs are able to demonstrate how important it is to develop fundamental math skills while illustrating the value of money.
