Inspiring Ohio's minority high school students to pursue their educational and career goals is what the Accounting Careers Awareness Program (ACAP-Ohio) is all about.

Ten years ago, The Ohio Society of CPAs and the National Association of Black Accountants' Ohio chapters formed a partnership to create this special program and bring it to minority high school students in Ohio. Since ACAP-Ohio's inception, over 350 students have participated in this significant, educational program.

ACAP-Ohio is a week-long summer enrichment program with two simple goals:

(1) Encouraging minority high school students to acquire the educational background they need to major in accounting or business in college

(2) Promoting the awareness of careers in business, accounting and as a CPA through the participation and volunteer time of minority role models.

Through ACAP-Ohio's efforts, participating students receive the educational enrichment experiences and practical help they need to prepare for higher education and professional business careers.
