"Winning a $500 college scholarship was one of my best memeories from ACAP-Ohio. I plan to get a business degree, a Master's of Accountancy, and then sit for the CPA exam. For me, the sky's the limit!" Ten years ago, The Ohio Society of CPAs and the National Association of Black Accountants formed a partnership to bring a special program to minority high school students in Ohio. The Accounting Careers Awareness Program (ACAP-Ohio) is a week-long summer enrichment program specifically for minority high school students who are interested in pursuing careers in business or accounting. ACAP-Ohio opens students' eyes to the world of business through interactive sessions, workshops, tours and mentoring.

Jerome Williams participated in last summer's ACAP-Ohio program. Embarking on his senior year at Hawken School in Gates Mills, Ohio, Jerome already had dreams of one day becoming a CPA. "The professionals I met at ACAP-Ohio were inspirational. They taught me a wealth of information about accounting and business. Plus, I learned about the importance of public speaking, etiquette, and much more!"
