Katherine J. Bennett, Ph.D., is an associate professor in criminal justice at
Armstrong Atlantic State University, Savannah, Georgia. Her research inter-
ests include legal issues in corrections and issues of crime and popular
culture.
Dean A. Dabney is an assistant professor in the Department of Criminal Jus-
tice at Georgia State University. His research is principally focused on
advancing the understanding of forms of deviant and/or criminal behavior
that occur in organizational settings. Namely, he has studied theft and sub-
stance abuse behaviors occurring among practicing pharmacists and nurses,
incompetence among prison doctors, and shoplifting and employee theft in
the retail industry. These projects have yielded a number of peer-reviewed
articles appearing in criminological, sociological, and medical series.
Craig Hemmens is an assistant professor in the Department of Criminal Jus-
tice Administration at Boise State University. In addition to the ethics, role,
and substance abuse research with Mary K. Stohr, his book titled Use of
Force: Current Practice and Policy
was just published by the American Cor-
rectional Association.
Misty Kifer is an undergraduate student in the Department of Criminal Jus-
tice Administration at Boise State University. She has also been engaged in
the role research with Craig Hemmens, Mary K. Stohr, and Mary Schoeler.
She plans to continue to conduct research on ethics as part of her graduate
studies.
Kate King is an associate professor of criminal justice administration at
Boise State University. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Albany
in 1992. Her interests include HIV/AIDS in prison, elderly inmates, capital
punishment, women and the justice system, and ethics.
Laura B. Myers is an associate professor of criminal justice at Sam Houston
State University. She received her doctorate in criminology from Florida
