Erika Harmon Arner (coeditor) is a partner at Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow,
Garrett & Dunner, LLP, and formerly chaired the rm’s Patent Ofce Practice.
She has represented both patent owners and petitioners in over 100 trials—
most as lead counsel—before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) of
the U.S. Patent and Trademark Ofce. She has also argued and won appeals
from PTAB trials to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, many
of which involved issues of rst impression in this emerging area of patent law.
Cory C. Bell (coauthor) is an attorney at Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow,
Garrett & Dunner, LLP. As a former patent examiner, his practice focuses
on AIA post-grant and reexamination proceedings before the U.S. Patent
and Trademark Ofce, and on portfolio development and management.
Cory has represented clients before the PTAB, in U.S. district courts, and
the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
Daniel C. Cooley (coauthor) is an attorney at Finnegan, Henderson, Far
-
abow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP, where he handles litigation at both the trial
and appellate level. Dan has acted as lead or co-counsel in more than 15
Federal Circuit matters, including appeals from PTAB proceedings. Dan
also practices before the PTAB, handling all aspects of IPR and CBM pro-
ceedings for petitioners and patent owners. Dan served as a law clerk at
the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
Kathleen A. Daley (coeditor) is a partner at Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow,
Garrett & Dunner, LLP, where she has extensive experience in litigation
before district courts, the U.S. International Trade Commission, the Patent
Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal
Circuit. She has led trial teams and argued appeals before the Federal Circuit.
She has also been involved in more than 60 post-grant proceedings before
the PTAB, including reexaminations and inter partes review proceedings.
