§ 68.08 THE EFFECT OF REMARRIAGE ON PRIOR OBLIGATIONS
Pursuant to RCW 26.16.200, premarital debts or obligations are the responsibility of the spouse who incurred the debt or obligation prior to the marriage. Also, a spouse is not responsible for the separate debts of the other spouse. However, a judgment creditor can attach a spouse's one-half interest in community property if his or her separate property is not sufficient to pay the debt. In re Diafos, 110 Wn.
