Summit Toys, Birmingham, Ala., has taken the concept a step further with its Zillionz Counting Money Jar, which uses a digital display to count and show your savings. Right away, kids can get a feel for how quickly the pennies turn into dollars. With a coin slot that recognizes the value of each deposit, there's no need to count change to watch your savings grow.

The clear jar is 4" wide by 6.5" tall, with a lid that can be unscrewed to access your money and reset the balance. The unit, which runs on two AA-batteries, has a Balance Guard feature that remembers your amount saved even when replacing batteries.

For some more practice for the real world, the Zillionz Deluxe ATM Savings Bank works with real money and functions like an ATM machine. It comes with its own ATM card, which needs to be inserted to activate the screen. Kids then enter their secret PIN to make transactions and get up-to-date account information.
