Cultural Explosion at American Center New
Delhi (DOS)
Scope: The State Department’s U.S. Mission to India
seeks applications for the Cultural Explosion at American
Center New Delhi (ACND) announcement to develop,
staff and execute regular cultural programs at ACND.
Deadline: May 26, 2020.
Funds: $200,000 for one award.
Eligibility: Colleges and universities and nonprot
organizations.
Areas: DOS said the successful applicant will be
responsible for programs including but not limited
to concerts; plays; dance; and other forms of
performances, entertainment and interactive activities
that help participants, most between the ages of 18
and 40, to understand better America and/or American
values and U.S. public diplomacy goals, drawing to the
greatest degree possible from talent located in India.
Performers or facilitators themselves may be American
or Indian. The grantee should develop activities and
events with advance approval of Public Affairs Section
(PAS) staff, based on general parameters provided by
PAS New Delhi.

Think Tank Engagement on Indo-Pacic Issues
(DOS)
Scope: The State Department’s U.S. Mission to India
seeks applications for the Think Tank Engagement on
Indo-Pacic Issues announcement that will bring together
Indian and regional thought leaders in New Delhi and
across the Indo-Pacic region to discuss, analyze and
formulate policy recommendations to improve India’s
integration in regional and global supply chains.
Deadline: May 26, 2020.
Funds: $200,000 for one award.
Eligibility: Colleges and universities and nonprot
organizations.
Areas: DOS said proposals taking a creative approach
to intellectual discussion and debate and that integrate
modern conference formats are strongly encouraged.
Applicants should develop at least 10 audio/visual or
other products designed to spark discussion for each
topic at these events—for example, extremely brief
video-recorded interviews with Indian/foreign business
leaders offering their views on event topics. At least
one of the interviewees should be an American citizen
representing a U.S. company.

Young Innovators (DOS)

announcement to administer the Young Innovators’
Initiative, a new exchange program for approximately
50 young Indian specialists, ages 25–40, in science,
technology and new business development to travel
to the United States for internships with American
companies working in similar elds.

Eligibility: Nonprot organizations.
Areas: DOS said the successful grantee will be
responsible for recruitment, assessment including
but not limited to English-language testing and other
vetting, and selection of qualied candidates for this
program; predeparture orientations covering American
society, social norms, culture and business culture,
etc.; coordinating with U.S.-based partner organizations
responsible for placement of participants in appropriate
internships; and reentry orientations for participants
returning to India to continue their careers.

Supporting Citizen Journalists (DOS)
Scope: The State Department’s U.S. Mission to
Pakistan seeks applications for the Supporting Citizen
Journalists announcement to expand the digital media
skills and capacity of citizen journalists, working to
build and support an open, democratic and prosperous
society in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Gilgit-
Baltistan (GB).
Deadline: May 18, 2020.
Funds: $100,000 for up to four awards ranging from
$25,000 to $100,000.
Eligibility: International nonprot organizations.
Areas: DOS said funding objectives include: increasing
the technical and professional capacity of AJK and
GB citizen journalists, creating new and strengthening
existing networks of Pakistan’s citizen journalists and
reducing barriers to growth for social media startups and
entrepreneurial ventures in the eld of digital journalism.
