After two older workers earned promotions, Timothy (age 32) filed an internal age-discrimination complaint, saying his boss once called him a "young, mistaken boy." He eventually filed a lawsuit alleging age-bias retaliation. But the court tossed out the suit, saying he couldn't have been retaliated against because federal age-bias law only protects workers age 40 and older. (Thomas v. Town of Southeast, SD NY)
