NOTICE: Annual Business Meeting

This year’s Annual Business Meeting/Luncheon will take place Friday, September 21, 2018, in conjunction with the Annual Meeting & Judicial Conference. The meeting will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn in Laramie, Wyoming, at 12 p.m. At the Annual Business Meeting any member shall have an opportunity to confer with the Board of Officers and Commissioners and present any complaint or suggestion for the improvement of the Wyoming State Bar. Members wishing to have resolutions considered by the Board of Officers and Commissioners must submit such resolutions to the executive director thirty (30) days prior to the Annual Business Meeting.

National Conference Taps Two Wyoming Lawyers

The National Conference of Bar Examiners (NCBE) has elected Darin B. Scheer of Farson, Wyoming, to its Board of Trustees. Scheer, who also serves as the Wyoming State Bar’s delegate to the ABA, is a member and past chair of the Board of Law Examiners. The NCBE also announced the appointment of Mark W. Gifford, Bar Counsel, to a 24-member working group tasked with development of a computer-based testing platform for the Multistate Professional Bar Examination (MPRE).

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS - Pro Bono Awards

Each year, the Wyoming State Bar seeks nominations for the Pro Bono Awards. These awards recognize dedicated members of the legal profession who are committed to providing legal services to the poor in Wyoming.

Nominations for the 2018 awards are due on July 31, 2018.

Attorneys are in a unique position to help those who cannot afford access to the legal system. The Wyoming State Bar seeks nominations of deserving individuals, groups and entities that perform exceptional work in the field of legal services to the poor. These awards will be presented at the Wyoming State Bar Annual Meeting & Judicial Conference in Laramie in September.

Award nomination forms and supporting materials must be received on or before July 31, 2018, at 5:00 p.m. Nomination packets may be sent by mail to Wyoming State Bar, P.O. Box 109, Cheyenne, WY 82003, or by e-mail to Cathy Duncil at cduncil@wyomingbar.org.

Each attorney nominee must be a member in good standing with the Wyoming State Bar.
