CALL FOR COMMENTS - Proposed Amendments by Bylaws

At a meeting held January 22, 2016, the Board of Officers and Commissioners of the Wyoming State Bar approved certain amendments to the Bylaws of the Wyoming State Bar to be distributed to members for comment. Several of the proposed amendments are housekeeping matters. The most significant is a proposed policy prohibiting the Bar's involvement in political or ideological activities that are not germane to the core purposes of the Bar, along with a procedure for members to object and request a refund of that portion of their license fees they contend may have been used to fund non-germane political or ideological activities. The new policies are found in Article I, Section 5, with a related policy appearing in Article XIII, Section 3. The proposed amendments are posted at www.wyomingbar.org or members may request a copy from Sharon Wilkinson, Executive Director, by calling (307) 432-2102 or e-mailing swilkinson@wyo-mingbar.org.

Comments should be submitted to Mark Gifford, Bar Counsel, at mgif-ford@wyobc.org, on or before February 29, 2016.
