Legal Aid of Wyoming Board Chair Receives National Award

The Board and staff of Legal Aid of Wyoming Inc. would like to thank Jessica Keith, Board Chair, for her outstanding leadership and management skills. Jessica was recently recognized with the 2016 Client Contributions Award from the National Legal Aid and Defender Aid Association in Indianapolis, Indiana, in November of 2016.

Jessica has served on the Board of Legal Aid of Wyoming since 2012 and has risen from a humble client eligible board member to be the Vice Chair and then Chair of the Board. Under Jessica's leadership the Program has increased services, provided more outreach, and significantly strengthened its financial position. Jessica was instrumental in Legal Aid being awarded the federal Vieth Leadership Grant that provided fiscal training and increased oversight to the Program. With her leadership, Legal Aid went from a deficit to surplus in just one year.

Jessica serves on several statewide committees including the Access to Justice Commission for the State of Wyoming, the Unit Manager for Casper Girl Scouts and the Secretary for the Hector Foundation Board, along with Legal Aid's Finance Committee, Legislative Outreach Committee and Executive Committee.

Casper Native and NBC News Justice Correspondent to Speak at Annual Meeting

The Wyoming State Bar is pleased to announce that Casper native Pete Williams will be delivering the keynote address at this year's Annual Meeting & Judicial Conference in Cheyenne on September 14,2017.

Pete Williams has covered the Justice Department and the U.S. Supreme Court for NBC News since 1993 as a correspondent based in Washington, DC. He has also covered the Department of Homeland Security since its creation after the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

Among the stories he has reported: the Aldrich Ames and Robert Hanssen spy cases, the Unabomber investigation, the Oklahoma City bombing, the Olympic bombing and search for Eric Rudolph, the Clinton impeachment proceedings, the legal wrangling over the 2000 Florida election results, the federal government's massive investigation following the September 11th terror attacks, and the Boston Marathon bombing and trial. He is a recipient of three national news Emmy awards.
