Xeriscaping bans are hypocritical.

Water has always been the lifeblood of our state. However, I can see a huge problem with a rather simple solution from the photograph of the green lawns on the first page of the article ("Glass Half-Full," October).

How about more Xeriscaping instead of a traditional grass yard? It is rather hypocritical to express such grave concern for water use and conservation but make no mention of communities that prohibit (through covenants) the wise use of water for landscaping. Several times, the Colorado Legislature has tried to strike down HOA covenants that prohibit Xeriscaping, only to be voted down by the...
