Scope: The Interior Department’s National Park Service
seeks applications for the Effects of Outdoor Lighting
on Natural Resources and Visitor Enjoyment in National
Parks announcement.

Funds: Awards are expected to range from $39,000 to
$150,000.

Areas: DOI said the successful applicant will develop
and operate an outdoor lighting laboratory that
advances understanding of outdoor lighting impacts on
natural resources and visitor preferences with respect
to lighting design, adaptive lighting technologies,
intensity or brightness of lighting, light color or “spectral
content”, and how luminaire design may inuence a
visitor’s waynding capability, feelings of safety, and the
quality of their park experience in order to inform park
management and decision-making.

Aircraft Tracking Over NPS Units (DOI)
Scope: The Interior Department’s National Park
Service seeks applications for the Aircraft Tracking Over
National Park Service (NPS) Units to effectively track
commercial air tours over NPS units and improve the
data processing and reporting ow to parks.

Funds: Awards are expected to range from $50,000 to

processing workow, including coding and data

On-Demand Video Resource Library
for Community Supervision Professionals (DOJ)
Scope: The Justice Department’s National Institute
of Corrections (NIC) seeks applications for the On-
Demand Video Resource Library for Community
Supervision Professionals announcement to develop
resources that will benet the community supervision
eld at large and add to NIC’s video library for use in a
number of NIC products.

Areas: DOJ said applicants will: conduct initial virtual
meeting with NIC within 30 days of the award to review
goals and objectives, discuss and develop a timeline of
activities, role clarication, overview of the project, and
the project concept plan; establish a diversied working
group and facilitate a meeting to identify at least 15-
20 community supervision practices that can be most
positively impacted by the creation of video vignettes
that highlight evidence-based and core correctional
practices; produce a minimum of eight to 10 in year
one, and eight to 10 in year two, three-to-ve-minute,
high-quality, compliant video vignettes; and design
and implement an evaluation process to collect user
feedback on microlearning resources (video vignettes).
