Wyoming Gov. Dave Freudenthal has announced that Torrington, Wyo., will be the site of the state's new medium-security prison. Selected to provide services for the conceptual design, the architectural team of DLR Group of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Tobin and Associates of Cheyenne, Wyo., were involved in the gathering, review and scoring of the initial site proposals, which included the cities of Torrington, Rawlins and Riverton, Wyo. The new facility will be a 650-bed prison that will create more than 300 jobs and allow the state to return many inmates from out-of-state prisons.
