Dear NDIA Members:

Most of you are very familiar with the numerous technical and policy-oriented conferences and symposia that NDIA conducts throughout the country. They are our primary means of providing you, our members, with the opportunity to hear and meet with senior government officials and their staff, both military and civilian, concerning a wide variety of subjects. The significant policy changes and new directions in strategy that are discussed and debated at these events often have a dramatic impact on your business.

Another, lesser-known but equally important opportunity is also available. You can gain increased access to your government customer and learn more about that customer by participating in one of our Industrial Committees.

These are relatively small, but high-level joint government/industry working groups of about 20 to 30 persons. They are chartered when government officials perceive the need for continuous interaction and dialogue about a specific commodity, technical subject or policy area.

Industrial Committees already exist in the following areas: ammunition, chemical/biological defense, small arms, test and evaluation, and tank and automotive. Additionally, we currently are creating another committee in support of the Air Force Acquisition Center of Excellence (ACE), chartered to streamline the Air Force acquisition process.
