Women treated for breast cancer while pregnant have improved disease-free and overall survival rates compared to non-pregnant females treated for the disease. Researchers in the Department of Breast Medical Oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, found that the five-year disease-free survival rate was 74% in pregnant women, compared to 56% in those who were not pregnant.
