Women in defense Mid-Atlantic Chapter swears in new leadership.

* The Women In Defense Mid-Atlantic Chapter, an affiliate of the National Defense Industrial Association, inducted new executive board officers recently at the Water's Edge Event Center, Belcamp, Maryland.

The new faces included: Sharon B. Jacobs, president; Sarah Lobos, vice-president; Anne Mackin, secretary; and Susan Manning, treasurer. Outgoing president, Heather Couvillon Lufburrow, performed the induction ceremony.

In other news, the chapter hosted its 10th annual breast cancer awareness luncheon, benefiting the University of Maryland's Upper Chesapeake Health Cancer LifeNet program. Featured speaker, Julie Chmura, challenged the defense community to each donate $5--the average cost of a morning latte. WID proudly presented the results of that challenge, a donation totaling more than $6,000, which surpassed previous fundraising efforts to date.
