Women In Defense Hosts Annual Conference.

* Women In Defense, an affiliate of the National Defense Industrial Association, recently held its national conference where government officials and members of industry met to discuss a variety of issues.

The event--which was held at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C.--included more than 200 attendees and more than a dozen speakers. Key participants included Heather Wilson, the secretary of the Air Force, and Gen. Lori Robinson, commander of North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command.

"We're thrilled with the success of this year's Women In Defense national conference," said retired Air Force Gen. Hawk Carlisle, NDIA's president and chief executive officer. "It was a pleasure to host my friends Gen. Robinson and Secretary Wilson at this important gathering. Their addresses and the events throughout the day reaffirmed NDIA's commitment to this affiliate's mission to empower women in national security careers. We need their expertise, their wisdom and their capabilities in American defense."
