Women In Defense (WID), A National Security Organization, cultivates and supports the advancement and recognition of women in all aspects of national security. WID was established to provide women a business environment for professional growth through networking, education, and career development.

Established in 1985 Women In Defense became an affiliate of the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) in 2004. WID is one of four affiliate of NDIA, which represents all facets of the defense and technology industrial base and serves all military services. This affiliation gives WID members a source for defense industry information, increased networking opportunities and professional contacts, and an expanded scope of informative programs.

Women In Defense provides women a dynamic community for developing leadership skills as well as mentoring, networking, and educational programs with CEU's and CLP's for programs to be available in 2016.

WID National provides many educational and professional development programs in addition to the many programs of the 20 WID Chapters. WID's Annual Conference is National's largest program and features leading military officers, defense corporate executives and academic experts. A Women Owned Small Business program will launch Fall 2015.

WID Membership is open to women and men whose primary professional activities relate to the United States' national security. WID represents members from defense companies and related small, medium and large business, all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces, government agencies, academia, associations and professional services. Active military and government employees may receive complimentary membership.

WID Individual Annual Memberships are $40 and Lifetime Memberships are $500. Government and Military Memberships are complimentary for 1 year.
