Wolford receives small business award.

The National Defense Industrial Association's small business division named Sharon Wolford, president and chief executive of the Carley Corp., the 2011 recipient of the Dr. Kathleen P. Sridhar Small Business Executive of the Year Award.

For her track record of success and dedication to her community, Wolford received the award at the 8th National Small Business Conference in San Diego in June.

Wolford's firm has been a provider of technologies to the Defense Department for more than two decades. The company, headquartered in Orlando, Ha., has grown under Wolford's leadership from three employees to more than 200.
