LINDITA, DENVER'S MOST DYNAMIC SALSA SALESWOMAN, DIDN'T WASTE a chance for national exposure of her Lindita's Instant Salsa Mix when, after having lopped off 24 inches of her jet black hair, Maury Povich asked what she thought of her new look.

"I think Lindita's salsa just got hotter," shot back Linda "Lindita" Torres-Winters.

Torres-Winters was one of five women and an 11-year-old TV star, Meredith Deane (she played Zoe on last year's critical hit, "Once and Again") who cut their hair on the Maury show July 17 to donate the locks to Wigs for Kids.

That national group tries to alleviate the embarrassment of hairlessness for children who have lost hair to fire, surgery or cancer treatments.

Lindita, a two-term board member of the Denver Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, is also a host of a local television talk Show, Hispanos Americanos, and her TV contacts told Maury's producers she might make a good prospect for the nationally televised hair cuts.

But putting in the salsa plug must have helped ease any separation anxiety

Look for Lindita's Salsa in the condiment trays at Invesco Field at Mile High this fall. Torres-Winters landed a vendor contract there that is sure to broaden local consumer recognition of her product.
