The latest Women In Defense unit-to be known as the Chesapeake Bay Chapter-is organizing at the Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Southern Maryland. The organizing committee is headed up by Jane Walter, of Booz Allen Hamilton. Over the past six months, she reported, 40 people have joined. "We are very proud of our success in such a short period of time, " Walters said. A minimum of 35 members are required to form a chapter.

The new Chesapeake Bay Chapter follows the formation this spring of a chapter at the Picatinny Arsenal in Dover, N.J. Both Picatinny and Chesapeake Bay have formed organizing boards to draft by-laws, establish chapter structure and to name committees. WID's Iowa-Illinois Chapter...
