Carson speaks a language that is unwaveringly white and conservative--and his supporters understand this. Three-fourths of the Carson crowd knows for a "fact" that President Obama was not born in the United States or is not sure, according to a recent poll by Public Policy Polling. The numbers are even worse when it comes to Obama's religious beliefs. Only 1 percent--this is no typo--believes that he is a Christian.
