WHO'S THE MOST SHY OF THEM ALL?

Contrary to the image projected by the Royal Family and the British upper class, the English, in general, are just as forthcoming as Americans. Bernardo Carducci, director of the Shyness Research Center, Indiana University Southeast, New Albany, surveyed 5,000 people worldwide using the Stanford Shyness Inventory. The study found that 45% of those surveyed in Great Britain and the U.S. could be characterized as shy, compared to 39% in Mexico.
