I was horrified to read about the behavior described in "Uprooting an Afghan Village" (by Anand Gopal, June issue). Who's supposed to be in charge here? And what are the motives of the Americans in the helicopters? Is this what Barack Obama meant by strengthening our efforts in Afghanistan?
