Gender parity will be achieved by 2048

* The proportion of women-held directorships among S&P 1500 companies grew just 1 % in each of the past four years.

* Women are now directors on 18% of those boards.

* At this rate, it would take more than 30 years for boards to achieve gender parity.

What sectors have the most women on boards?

Utilities (23%), consumer staples (23%) and consumer discretionary (21 %) have the most women on their boards. The laggards are materials (16%), information technology (16%) and energy (13%).
