Salt Lake City - WESTMINSTER COLLEGE has broken ground on its new Meldrum Science Center. With an enrollment of more than 2,600 students, the school considers the new science building an absolute necessity to accommodate the increased demand for science classes.

The architectural firm of VCBO and Big-D Construction are teaming with science department faculty members Paul Hooker and Tricia Shepherd in the design of a state-of-the-art facility that emphasizes inquiry-based learning, undergraduate research, interdisciplinary science and green, energy-efficient building design. The center will be LEED certified, underscoring Westminster's commitment to the environment.
