Employment will be about 160. The merged company will be known as Peregrine Industrial and will provide construction and utility services.

CAROLEEN -- Gastonia-based Parkdale America planned to close its plant here at the end of January, costing Rutherford County about 100 jobs. The company cited the impact of Asian currency devaluations and unfair trade practices by China and other countries. The plant was recruited in 2002 and received about $400,000 in incentives.
