West Columbia hosting U.S. Census job fair.

The city of West Columbia is helping the U.S. Census hire temporary employees to conduct the 2020 census by hosting a job fair Thursday.

The job fair will be held from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. in the City Hall parking lot at 200 N. 12th St., according to a news release. Candidates can apply in person or at the census bureau job site.

Pay rates vary by area and all 2020 census jobs are temporary. The largest amount of positions available are for census takers. Most positions are anticipated to last several weeks. Depending on the position, some require weekend and evening hours.
