Introduction

In the RATB Intranet was implemented in 1999, and provides data communication between headquarters and territory. SIEAR is the service of the RATB, which provide access to the institution's Intranet and Internet access in urban transport. SIEAR also manages the website RATB (www.ratb.ro) and mail services (e-mail) of the organization. In 2006 the RATB communication network was upgraded. It introduced fiber network and increased speed to 100MB/s. All locations are connected to the central location RATB. This ensures access to IT resources and services of the organization. According to the procedure PO RATB SIEAR 003-Security system, central location node is defined in the logical architecture of the infrastructure and power equipment, namely servers, routers and switches are mounted in rooms dedicated to secure access. From this point of view we believe that the RATB has realized early on the importance of information and communication technologies within the organization. However the RATB's vision on ICTs is currently the instrumentation, information and communication services within the organization that are associated with the automation of processes and facilitate the design and tracking workflows.

Literature Review

Due to the multiplicity of meanings of the term Intranet encountered both in practice and in the literature to support the IT specialists within the RATB, I propose a conceptual delimitation of the term Intranet by presenting the concept as seen in main stream scientific papers. Thus, Intranet is defined as "an implementation of Internet technology within an organization or as a Web particular (...) and is designed so that delivery of information resources voluminous organization become transparent to each individual user, with a minimum consumption of time and effort." Usually "local Intranet networks using communication protocols TCP / IP and web-based services, email, FTP and equally soft and custom tools for consulting the databases" (Nastase, 1999). The Intranet architecture usually has the following configuration:

Findings and Recommendations

Considering the new vision presented above regarding the concept of Intranet, we recommend that the role of ICT be reconsidered according to the latest developments and innovations in the field.

So instead I propose SIEAR be reconsidered by creating Directorate Information and Communication Technologies (DTIC) reports directly to the Directorate General for Development and Economic Policy. Subordinated DTIC will find Implementation Unit Information Systems, Information Systems Operation Service and Maintenance Service Equipment and Network Administration. Information Systems in the Service Operations Management Office will be established Electronic Personal Identities. All these proposals represent a recognition of the special importance given to IT. From our point of view, the contribution of intranet development in the new society is given mainly by the expected benefits such as:

Reconsidering the role of administrative offices in the new company the classical sense, the administrative office may be associated with a structural component that focuses documents that stores information that can be used in work processes, present or future (Enache, 2010).

By implementing the new concept of Intranet within the RATB much of the routine activities of...
