Reno-Tahoe requests delay for backscatter machines. Reno-Tahoe International Airport is scheduled to receive full-body scanners over the summer, but Krys Bart, the CEO of the airport authority, is asking for a delay due to installation and operational concerns. The new technology may be difficult to fit into the airport's narrow checkpoint area, and Bart fears staffing could be an issue for passengers who request the pat-down alternative. "If the TSA says that you have to have an option, and they don't staff for that option, it means that they will not have enough people to do the pat-downs," Bart says. General aviation pilots ask Reno airport to reconsider FBO leases. A group of general aviation pilots asked Reno-Tahoe International Airport to reconsider plans to let two fixed-base operators vacate the airport due to lease increases. The pilots may be forced to relocate their aircraft to Stead, Nev., in two years.
