Anyone who has ever wanted to play in a band can make that wish come true with Activision's Band Hero for Wii. Containing 65 songs by the biggest pop artists including The Go-Gos, Jackson 5, Jesse McCartnay, Nelly Furtado, and more, plus exclusives from No Doubt and Taylor Swift, players can create their own band with up to four lead singers. With a collection of challenges that vary in difficulty, RockFest mode includes Momentum, where the song level changes based on performance; Elimination, the lowest scoring player is eliminated after each segment; Do or Die, missing any three notes temporarily knocks players out; Streakers, points are awarded whenever the note streak is a multiple of 10; Perfectionist, points go to whomever hits the highest percentage of notes in each section; and Pro Face Off, which is a head-to-head battle where everyone plays the same song at the same difficulty with the same instrument. There's also Party Play mode that lets garners jump in or jump out of a song at any time with the push of a button; Sing Along mode for karaoke-style crooning for performing without worrying about scores or failing; and Roadie Battle mode where players team up with a partner on a DS. Fans also can rock out using the Wii remote and Nunchuk to "air drum." The Mii Freestyle Stage Manager allows DS players in the audience to control lightshows, change cameras, and ignite pyrotechnics. Owners of both Wii and DS versions can connect wirelessly to unlock extra gameplay and content. Wii players can download Fan Request challenges directly into their DS Lite's career and unlock awards and exclusive characters that are playable within both games. The complete Band Hero kit comes with drum and guitar controllers, and a microphone, and is playable with all Guitar Hero controllers. Rated E 10+ for lyrics and mild suggestive themes.
