Talent pipeline development is a proactive talent supply strategy involving the creation of a continuous stream of highly qualified candidates in anticipation of filling critical and recurrent positions. Simply put: it's all about positioning people for in-demand jobs.
Chamber member MGM Grand Detroit is an interesting example of a company that's fairly new to the region, in an industry that's still fairly new to the region, working to create a talent supply for the hospitality industry.

Our high schoolers must receive exposure to business industry standards - an education by way of our exemplary local colleges and universities. Experience through local business internships and exposure to career opportunities will make a lifetime of difference."
MGM Grand Detroit serves on the Joint Advisory Board of the Culinary and Hospitality Board for Breithaupt and Golightly Career and Technical Centers. This year is the second year in which MGM Grand Detroit Community Scholarships have been awarded. The scholarships provide support to Schoolcraft College for graduating students at Breithaupt and Golightly. Scholarship recipients have the opportunity to participate in paid internships at MGM Grand Detroit. More than $400 million dollars over the past two years have supported capital, in-kind and scholarships for MGM's educational partners.
