If you want more signs, look into who is Trump's local partner: Barry Group Investments, a company owned by Odell Barry, a former Denver Bronco and now a developer who has been involved in the Stapleton redevelopment and the raising of both Coors and Invesco fields.

Or look into our first ever Quarterly Tech Report written by Stewart Schley in this issue (page 36) about the recovery, one-company-at-a-time, of the state's high-tech industry.

There's even more evidence.

Look back into last month's ColoradoBiz Top 250 Private Companies list, which includes several stalwart listees like No. 115 St. Andrews Electric Corp., which posted more than $10 million in 2004 revenues, an 84 percent gain from the previous year.

That's more than recovery, it's darn solid growth.

And for more signs of growth you could look back at the insert in last month's issue that profiled the 27 ColoradoBiz Top Company competition finalists, all of whom reached the finals because of the solid financial and community-service performances of their companies.

More than 400 people turned out Sept. 8 at the magazine's Top Company Awards luncheon to hear which winners of the competition will be profiled in next month's magazine. The 2005 winners are: ADA Technologies, American Furniture Warehouse, Baxa Corp., Catholic Health Initiatives, DocuVault, MDC Holdings, New Frontier Bank, St. Mary Land & Exploration Co., and Xanterra Parks and Resorts.

Mayor John Hickenlooper spoke to that statewide audience of successful business owners, executives and employees, realizing that the 400 represented a large gathering of movers and shakers, people of influence, people who could spread the message of Denver's success to others...
