Mid-life crisis? What are you talking about?

Some guys react to middle age by running out to buy a new red Porsche. Others have affairs. Women turn to Botox or other “enhancements” – or so I hear. Seems there’s always some element of fantasy involved.

I turned 50 a couple months ago. Tough I know it’s a milestone, I didn’t get too excited. I’m healthy and having lots of fun. Besides, 50 is the new 37, right?

Not so fast. Turns out, over the past month and a half, I’ve taken mid-life crisis to a whole new level – without even knowing it.

In March, shortly after my 50th, we took a nice beach vacation. For the first time ever, I chose not to shave while “chilling” for eight days in the surf and sand...
