The theme for this month’s issue of this fine magazine is “The Public’s Perception of Lawyers and the Legal Profession.” We all know that attorneys are often the butt of jokes and not highly regarded by society in general. However, as the 100th president of the Wyoming State Bar, I could not agree more with our 80th President, Gerald Mason, “[I am] Proud to be a Wyoming Lawyer.” A pervasive misperception of our profession is out there; there is much to be done to change the attitudes of our neighbors.
