Wyoming State Law Library: A Year of Changes and a Look Towards the Future

The Wyoming State Law Library has undergone some changes in the last year. In January 2015, a new director for the Law Library came on board, Eugenia Charles-Newton. Ms. Charles-Newton has made many positive changes to the State Law Library since assuming her role. Under her direction, reference services have improved and the operations of the Law Library have been streamlined. Ms. Charles-Newton has implemented new procedures and standards that have enhanced the turnaround time and quality of the Law Library’s responses to reference requests. She has also assessed how the library operates and has implemented new, efficient procedures that have simplified how materials are processed, maintained, and ultimately accessed by our patrons.

The Collection

Collection development, the process of building and maintaining a library’s collection, is now a team effort. Library staff and patrons who use the Law Library are encouraged to make recommendations, which are always considered.
