More Than Just Diamonds, Chocolate, Beer and Waffles

I fell in love with Belgium over the weekend.

I’ve never been to Belgium, but now I surely will visit someday.

Tis past Saturday, Meg, our friend from Cody, married William, from Belgium, in New York City. Yancy and I were excited to attend.

Until now, I generally identified Belgium with diamonds, chocolate, beer and waffles – the unfortunate extent of my limited knowledge (i.e., ignorance) of the country’s people, industry and culture.

In fact, before this weekend, William was the only person from Belgium I’d ever met. True to stereotype, William works with diamonds – he’s a “gemologist.” We met William last year when he visited Cody. He...
